GUEST CHEF NIGHT
Our Guest Chef Night happens 3 times a year and gives our students an opportunity to work with some of Vancouver's top Chefs who donate their time and talent to promote the Coast Mental Health Culinary Skills Training Program and the Cafe Program. The exclusive evening consists of 2 seatings of 20 people each at 5 pm and 7 pm. Lucky ticket holders will be treated to a 4 course meal prepared by a local Chef paired with a unique wine. Our first one was sold out and a huge success. If you are interested in attending our next one in March 2019, continue to watch this space for more details.
On Monday, November 26th for the very first Coast Mental Health Culinary Program, Guest Chef Night fundraiser with Chef Scott Jaeger from The Peartree Restaurant here at Social Crust Cafe.
Jaeger apprenticed under Bruno Marti at La Belle Auberge Restaurant and later worked at the Waldorf Hotel in London, a move that led to France, Switzerland and Australia. He and his wife Stephanie opened the Pear Tree Restaurant in late 1997, which was rated top overall in Zagat 2012 to 2014 and named in Canada’s Top 100 restaurants in 2015.
The meal will be prepared by Chef Jaeger and his team along with students from the Coast Mental Health Culinary Program. There will be two seatings to choose from 5pm- 6:30pm or 7pm - 8:30pm.
This evening is all about raising money and awareness for this necessary and unique program that provides young people who struggle with mental health, opportunities to train and gain employment in Vancouver’s world class culinary industry.
Whether you’re a foodie or philanthropist, this night is not to be missed. All ticket sales go directly to support the Culinary Program as the entire evening is staffed by volunteers and is being hosted by the Social Crust Café, a Coast Mental Health social enterprise initiative.
